Over the past few years we have been working on renewing our identity, refocusing our mission, and revitalizing our structures. We placed major sections of our bylaws in abeyance to enable experimentation with different ways of doing things. This past spring new bylaws were introduced and discussed at our Area Fellowships and online at Wiggio. The Executive Board is pleased to present a revised version of the proposed bylaws for adoption by our member churches at the Annual Celebration and Business Meeting to be held November 15-16, 2010 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hampden, MA.
You will notice that the proposed bylaws are shorter in length and refer many details of operation to an Operation and Policy Manual. It is our desire to keep those things that should not frequently change (like our Statement of Faith) in the bylaws and move many of the other things that need to be more flexible and fluid in a rapidly changing culture (like structure and operations) into an Operations and Policy Manual that may be revised as needed.
